Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

    In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a hand mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.

    Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

    In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.

    Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.

    Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown but the centers remain soft. Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
