Why we built Listahan

Listahan started as one parent's frustration. Planning meals for a family with multiple food allergies, while tracking three kids' school lunch rules and a tight grocery budget, meant juggling spreadsheets, sticky notes, and a lot of last-minute scrambles in the grocery aisle.

The app we built started with the hardest problem first: a household where a wrong ingredient isn't a preference, it's a risk. We built the allergen safety gate that checks every meal, a kitchen that tracks what's actually on hand, and prices before the drive to the store. Once that trust was earned around the dinner table, the same system grew to run the rest of the household — lists, the calendar, events, and chores — one record instead of a stack of separate apps.

"Listahan" is a Filipino word for "list" — fitting for an app built around the most underrated household productivity tool of all time.
