Our mission

Building the operating system for your household — starting with the part you can't get wrong

Running a household is a daily logistics problem — meals, lists, events, reminders — with a safety problem hidden inside the food part. Someone at the table can't have peanuts, or dairy, or gluten — and the planning tools that exist either ignore that or treat it as an afterthought. Listahan was built the other way around: safety first, real-world cooking second, busywork last.

That mission started with food — the hardest, highest-stakes part of the day — and it's grown into the operating system for your whole household: meals, groceries, events, lists, and everything in between, in one calm place. Powered by Lens. Built around your household.

Why we built it

Parents managing allergies carry an invisible load: re-reading every label, vetoing half the recipes online, and triple-checking what goes in a lunchbox bound for a nut-free classroom. It's exhausting, and one missed ingredient is a genuinely serious problem.

At the same time, the families doing this work are increasingly multicultural — and most meal apps still cook from a narrow, single-cuisine playbook. So we set out to build the app we wished existed: one that checks every meal against your household's allergies automatically, draws from a genuinely broad catalog, and then does the tedious part — the plan, the list, the lunchboxes — so you don't have to.

Food was the hardest place to start, so it's where we started. The same household — and the same trust — is why Listahan is becoming the place for everything else that goes with it: the lists, the events, the whole week, not just dinner.

We’d rather have a recipe you’ll trust than a thousand you won’t. Every dish is analyzed and allergen-checked before it joins the library — and the library, the cuisines we cover, and the Lens engine keep growing and improving.

What we believe

Safety is not a feature — it is the floor

An app that handles your family's allergies has to be right every time, not most of the time. That's why our allergen checks are fixed rules, run on every plan, swap, and lunchbox — not a model's best guess. Safety is never paywalled and never optional.

The food you grew up eating belongs in the plan

Most meal apps quietly assume one kind of kitchen. Families in North America are multicultural — adobo, bibimbap, jollof, tacos al pastor, and Tuesday-night pasta all belong on the same week. Our catalog spans 2,563 recipes across 49 cuisines so the plan looks like your table.
