Pecan Pie

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9-inch pie dish with the unbaked crust and crimp the edges securely.

    Spread the pecan halves evenly across the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.

    In a large mixing bowl, aggressively whisk the eggs until frothy. Whisk in the corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until completely smooth and homogeneous.

    Gently pour the liquid filling over the pecans in the pie crust. The pecans will naturally float to the top to form a beautiful crust.

    Place the pie on a baking sheet (to catch any spills) and bake for 50-60 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center should still have a slight jiggle like gelatin when gently shaken.

    Remove from the oven and let the pie cool completely on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing to allow the custard to fully set.
