Instructions

  1. 1

Slice the hoagie roll horizontally, leaving the back edge intact to form a hinge. Open the roll flat on your work surface.

  2. 2

Drizzle the top and bottom interior halves of the roll generously with the Italian vinaigrette, allowing the dressing to soak slightly into the bread.

  3. 3

On the bottom half, layer the sharp provolone cheese from end to end. This creates a moisture barrier.

  4. 4

Fold and layer the meats systematically for the best texture: drape the prosciutto first, followed by folded slices of salami, and finally the pepperoni.

  5. 5

Top the meats with the thin tomato slices (seasoned lightly with salt and pepper) and finish with a mound of shredded iceberg lettuce.

  6. 6

Fold the top half over the ingredients, press down firmly, and slice the sub in half on a bias before serving.
