Bugwiches

Playful bug-shaped sandwiches built on dinner rolls and decorated with crunchy vegetables, perfect for entertaining kids.

Instructions

    Slice each dinner roll horizontally about 1/2 inch from the bottom. Pull out some bread from the top half, leaving walls about 1/2 inch thick.

    Place cucumber or radish slices over the bottom halves of the rolls, sticking out slightly to make mouths or tongues.

    Spoon a mound of tuna or salmon salad filling on top of each bottom half, then cover with the top halves of the rolls.

    Insert carrot and celery sticks into the filling around the sides to make legs.

    Make two slits on each side of the top half of each bun and tuck in lettuce leaves to form wings.

    Decorate with raisins and small vegetable pieces for eyes, antennae, and other body parts, attaching them with a dab of mayonnaise. Serve right away.
