Make the Rub: Mix the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Season: Rub the chicken all over with olive oil, then the spice rub, inside and out.

Prep the Can: Open the beer and pour out (or drink) half; the half-full can becomes the stand.

Mount: Lower the chicken cavity over the beer can so it sits upright, legs down, like a tripod.

Roast: Stand it on a grill (lid down) or in a roasting tray at 190°C (375°F) for about 1.25 hours, until the juices run clear and the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
