Pound Cake

    Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Generously grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan or two 9x5-inch loaf pans.

    In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and beat on medium-high for 5-7 minutes until very light and fluffy.

    Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl. Stir in the vanilla extract.

    Whisk the flour and salt together. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in three additions, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix until just combined.

    Pour the batter into the prepared pan(s) and smooth the top with a spatula.

    Bake for 60-75 minutes, or until a long skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
