Butter Tart Slice

    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine the flour, softened margarine, and 1/4 cup brown sugar, mixing until crumbly.

    Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan to form the base.

    Bake the base for 10 minutes, until just set and lightly golden.

    Meanwhile, prepare the filling: in a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, 1 cup brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth, then stir in the raisins.

    Pour the filling over the partially baked base and return to the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the filling is set and golden.
