Amish Cornbread

    Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.

    In a large bowl, combine the friendship starter, eggs, milk, sugar, flour, and cornmeal. Beat at medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth and well blended.

    Add the vegetable oil, baking soda, salt, and baking powder, then mix well until just combined; do not overmix.

    Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
