Buttermilk-Oat Bread

A soft, slightly tangy bread-machine loaf made with buttermilk, honey, and toasted rolled oats.

Instructions

    To toast the oats, spread the rolled oats in a shallow baking pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned. Let cool completely.

    Add the buttermilk, honey, butter, bread flour, toasted oats, salt, and yeast to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by your machine's manufacturer.

    Select the regular or white bread setting and start the machine.

    When the cycle finishes, remove the loaf from the pan and cool on a wire rack before slicing.
