Calzone

A folded, stuffed pizza turnover oozing with ricotta, mozzarella, and salami.

Instructions

    Preheat: Heat the oven to 230°C (450°F) and line a baking tray.

    Roll the Dough: Divide the dough into 4 pieces and roll each into a round about 20cm (8 in) wide.

    Fill: On one half of each round, spread tomato sauce and add dollops of ricotta cheese, torn mozzarella, salami, and a pinch of oregano — leave a border.

    Seal: Fold the dough over the filling and crimp the edges tightly with a fork to seal.

    Egg Wash and Bake: Brush the tops with beaten egg, cut a small steam vent, and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden and puffed.

    Serve: Rest 5 minutes, then serve with warm tomato sauce for dipping.
