    Season the Coating: Mix the flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, and pepper.

    Dredge: Toss the rings in the seasoned flour to coat, shaking off the excess.

    Heat Oil: Heat oil to 190°C (375°F).

    Fry: Fry in small batches for 1-2 minutes until pale gold and crisp — overcooking makes squid rubbery.
